APRIL MEETING AT “TRANQUILLITY” AT LOCKSLEY

Our meeting on the 3rd of April was held in the garden of Lorraine and Ted Inwood.  They have lived at their beautiful haven for over 20 years.  The garden consists of beautiful conifers, deciduous trees, a formal garden and covered walkways.  All highlighted with Lorraine’s garden art.  Thanks Lorraine and Ted.  It was wonderful for the club to visit your lovely garden again.

Our March meeting was held at Peter and Janelle Matus’ garden,  “Tara”, Rockley Road, Rockley.   Thank you to Peter and Janelle for sharing your lovely garden with the club.

AGM AND 25TH BIRTHDAY IN DECEMBER

Our AGM and 25th birthday celebrations were held on the 13th of December.   Guests included – Mayor Gary Rush, Zone Co-Ordinator for Garden Clubs of Australia Glenna Coxhill, Past President of Garden Clubs of Australia Ken Bradley and founding members.   The highlight of the day was the cutting of the birthday cake by President Peter Varman and Mayor Gary Rush.

NOVEMBER MEETING

The November meeting was held at “The Old School House” at Yetholme. Built in 1858 the beautiful historic home is now owned by club member Belinda Cobcroft.  Belinda and Brian purchased the property in 2012. Belinda and Brian are slowly clawing back the plantings of maples, crab apples, birch, rhododendrons and roses from the relentless ivy and layering vibernums that for years engulfed the plants, buildings and fences.   Thank you Belinda and Brian for sharing your garden with us.

Our next meeting will be held at 2pm on Sunday 3rd March, 2019.  The venue is 223 Eleven Mile Drive. (about halfway along or 2.2 kms from the Kelso end.)   The garden was a cow paddock 36 years ago.   A lot of hard work has transformed the garden into what we see today.  It has several different garden rooms, lots of trees, shrubs, bulbs, flowers and roses.

Please bring a chair, a mug and a share plate. Look forward to seeing you!
