Meeting 6th October 2019
Historic Machattie Park was the meeting venue for a successful meeting of members and guests. The good attendance in lovely surroundings, were receptive to Rusel from Bathurst Regional Council and Dhyan from “Natural Splendour” on water-wise issues. Russel presented a factual account of the situation and history of the current restrictions and the planning for the expected future. Dhyan explained the use and chemistry of grey water, benefits and value of varieties of mulching and available chemicals and application techniques.
Thanks to Don Stafford for his summary of the meeting and lovely photos.
Trip to Leura Pre-Festival Gardens 3rd October 2019
35 members of the club travelled to Leura on Thursday the 3rd of October to visit gardens. The four gardens we visited were pre-festival ones which aren’t part of the festival itself. We had a fantastic day with perfect weather. Our guides Graeme and Helen from the festival volunteers were thoughtful and extremely helpful especially at the Sculpture Garden where we had to walk 350m each way. Graeme was kind enough to bring his own car to ferry members who found the walk difficult. Here are some fantastic photos taken by President Chris Bayliss.
