SENIORS VISITS TO MEMBERS’ GARDENS

The idea came from our past President Karen Granger who was eager to get members more involved in the community.  One way of doing this was to invite aged care residents to visit members’ gardens.   Seniors are enjoying visiting many of the gardens belonging to our club members.

JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST MEETINGS (WINTER) will be held at the Bathurst Senior Citizen’s Centre – 176 Russell Street.(Or end of Flanagan Lane, off Russell Street, near Rankin Street roundabout.)  Please bring your mug and a plate to share.

At the June meeting the speaker will be member Chris Stewart.  Chris’ topic is “A Potted History of Gardening in Bathurst” from 1870 onwards; who planted our Street Trees; forgotten and lost parks and gardens.

Fiona Ogilvie is our speaker in July.   Fiona is another member of the club and is a writer for the “Land”.
